Attention Sophomores: HOBY

The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Program is once again being offered to high school sophomores.

“HOBY is a widely acclaimed international program which provides lifelong leadership development opportunities that empower individuals to achieve their highest potential.  HOBY also seeks to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within our global society through understanding and action based on effective and compassionate leadership.”

HOBY leadership seminar is scheduled from May 15-18, 2014 at Shippensburg University.  At the seminar, you will join other sophomores from Pennsylvania and you will have the opportunity to question and interact with outstanding leaders in business, education, government, and other professions.  All 10th graders may apply.  There is no cost to attend the seminar.  Visit www.hoby.org for more information.

If you are in the 10th grade and you think you possess leadership qualities and/or you have demonstrated leadership in the past, you should consider applying.  Stop by the Guidance Office to pick up an application.  Applications require students to complete a 150 word essay.  Applications are due back to the Guidance office no later than Monday November 11th.

Please contact Mrs. Devine (x 21914 or amy_devine@swsd.k12.pa.us ) if you have questions or want more information about this excellent opportunity.
