Attention students who took the June 6th SAT:
On the June 6th administration of the SAT there was a printing error in Sections 8 and 9 of the test book. The College Board has provided a complete explanation of the incident here: June 6th SAT
The College Board will allow students who believe their “testing experience was negatively affected by the printing error” to retake the SAT free of charge. This fee waiver is only good for students from the June 6th administration of the test, and it can only be used for the October SAT date. Students who wish to make use of this October SAT fee waiver must call the College Board directly to request this fee waiver. Fee waivers will only be granted over the phone. The College Board’s toll-free number is: 1-866-756-7346
Again, this fee waiver is only for students who were negatively impacted by the printing error on the June 6th test AND it can only be used for the October SAT. Registration for the October SAT closes on September 3rd.
Please note: the College Board has stated that they are “confident in the reliability of scores from the June 6 administration of the SAT and don’t want to cause undue anxiety for students by making them believe they need to sit for the test again.” SWHS is not suggesting or implying that students should make use of this fee waiver. However, we do want our students to be aware of this opportunity. If you have questions regarding your SAT scores, or the pros/cons of retaking the SAT in October, please contact your school counselor.
