Keystone Girls State / American Legion Auxiliary

Shippensburg University June 18 – 23, 2017

Keystone Girls State (KGS) is a program of the American Legion Auxiliary, Pennsylvania. It is a week-long in-house conference pertaining to educating young women in Americanism, patriotism and the governmental process. The young ladies attending must have finished up their junior year in high school.

It is a mythical state where the girls (citizens) become self-governing from the city, county and state levels. This is achieved through campaigning and elections of their officers.

During the week, there are many guest speakers from various offices and political positions from across the commonwealth. During the Americanism presentations, citizens learn the proper way to display their patriotism.
