In 1988, in partnership with Lehigh alumnus and automotive icon Lee A. Iacocca ’45, Lehigh University established the Iacocca Institute on its Mountaintop campus to provide innovative leadership, applied management and cross-cultural learning experiences.

About the Academy

The dynamic world of health care plus the expertise of University of Pittsburgh academics and facilities. This educational mixture shapes a unique, academically rigorous, hands-on campus experience for students attending the Health Career Scholars Academy (UPHCSA) each summer. The Academy is often a springboard for future studies in medicine.

Pennsylvania School for Excellence in Agricultural Sciences

The Pennsylvania School for Excellence in the Agricultural Sciences (PSEAS) has deep roots, blooming out of what was formerly known as the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Agricultural Sciences.

The College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State first hosted this enrichment program in 1986. Over the years, this special program has impacted over 1600 participants in exploring college life and the expansive and diverse fields of agricultural science and natural resources. This is a four-week residential program held primarily at University Park campus for academically talented and gifted high school rising seniors from throughout Pennsylvania.

When: July 8 to August 3, 2018

Where: Penn State University Park campus

The program will take place on the University Park Campus of Penn State this summer and will host a variety of opportunities for our PSEAS scholars. Please browse this site to learn more about School for Excellence and the activities it will offer to its scholars this year.

Penn State Dual Enrollment

October is here, and that means it’s time to start thinking about spring dual enrollment registration at Penn State York.

Returning Students:

Returning students are encouraged to call the admissions office between November 1 and December 15 to schedule an appointment with an admissions counselor to select their spring semester classes. Students do not need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian and do not need additional documentation from their high school in order to register for classes.

New Students:

The following materials must be received by the admissions office from the high school guidance office by no later than December 1, in order for new students to be eligible for program participation (documentation should be mailed to Shelly Drabik at the address below, or faxed to her attention, marked “Dual Enrollment Student Documentation,” at 717-771-4005):
  • The completed fillable Penn State York Dual Enrollment Form and Contract, signed by the student, parent/guardian, and high school guidance counselor. This form must be completed on a computer, printed, and signed before submission. Handwritten contracts will not be accepted.
  • Official high school transcript.
  • Standardized test scores (one or more of the following: SAT (recommended), ACT, PSAT, PSSA or Keystone Exam).
  • Letter of recommendation from the student’s high school guidance counselor.

Scholarship Essay Contest

A total of $5,000 in scholarships will be awarded during each open house. To enter, bring a composed essay with you (no more than two typed pages, double-spaced) on this topic:  Choose a foreign country that you would like to visit and explain why you find that country so appealing.  Submit your essay during the morning registration in Kuch Center. You need not have applied nor been admitted to enter the essay contest.
