The Apprentice Writer, a national literary magazine for high school students is distributed to 3,000 high schools around the United States. We are currently accepting submissions for our 2018 issue and we hope you will pass this information along.
The submission process for The Apprentice Writer is now completely online. Students can go to The Apprentice Writer webpage (www.apprenticewriter.com) or directly to the submission page at https://tinyurl.com/apprenticewriter2018. We accept submissions in poetry, prose, and black and white photography.
In addition to considering submissions for publication, we will be recognizing one Outstanding Writer and one runner up in both poetry and prose. The Outstanding Writers will receive $200 each and runners up will receive $50 each, judged by Glen Retief, the director of the Susquehanna University Writers Institute. Publication in The Apprentice Writer is also a good credential for applications to undergraduate creative writing programs.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. We would greatly appreciate it if you could print the attached flyer and post it in your office as well as forwarding this information electronically to your colleagues and students.
