State Police Youth Week is a week long experience for future cadets.  The program will run from June 5-11, 2022 at Messiah University.

Program Overview:

Cadets participate in a wide variety of instructional sessions with Local, State Police and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.  You will learn how to work as a team and be taught self-esteem, as you will be the future Leaders of our state and nation.  There will be classes in Pennsylvania Vehicle and Crime Codes, forensic sciences, radar, riot control, tactical drug operation through the use of specially trained dogs, weapon firing, and other police related skills.  Recreational activities will be scheduled as time permits.  This is a six-day camp used to introduce students in all procedures of law enforcement.  Cadets march to their classes in platoon formation and have drill competition.  You should be physically fit and have a good academic record to be able to participate.  This is not a recreational camp.

ASVAB TESTING 12.13.17

Wednesday, December 13th during periods 1 & 2 the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be administered to interested students in grades 10-12.  The ASVAB is a multiple choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command.  It is used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States armed forces.

Students who are not interested in enlisting in the military can also take the test to help with Career Exploration.  The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a tool to help students identify and explore potentially satisfying occupations and to develop effective strategies to realize their career goals.  The ASVAB will provide the student with career exploration scores that they can use to help determine readiness for further education and training in different career areas.  Knowing academic strengths and weaknesses now can give students time to work to improve on them before they start a job, begin college or vocational school, or enter the military.

There is no cost for a student to take the test.  Test results will be reviewed with students approximately 1 month from the test administration.  Please sign the form below to allow your son/daughter to take the ASVAB test.  If you have questions feel free to contact me at 632-2548, ext. 21913.
